For ages 19 and above
The whole course is taken on a motorcycle at least 245cc and between 20kW / 27bhp & 35kW 46.6bhp. We use a Honda CB300R.
Once successfully completed you’ll have a full motorcycle licence allowing you to ride most motorcycles not exceeding 35kW.
After two years you can upgrade your licence to A (no restrictions) by taking a further practical test on an A category motorcycle.
You must have a valid DVSA motorcycle theory test certificate before taking this course and a valid CBT certificate if doing the experienced rider or novice rider course.

Option 1, for the experienced rider*:

Module 1 training | 1 day | Usually conducted on a Saturday, sometimes Sunday |
Module 1 test | 15 minutes | Conducted on a Wednesday |

Experienced rider
Must be extremely comfortable riding manual gearbox motorcycles, ideally with experience riding machines bigger than 125cc, such as motorcross / off-road riding / track riding. If you haven't ridden larger machines we'd strongly suggest the Novice rider course.
Novice rider
A rider with geared-bike riding experience and reasonably comfortable on one - either on or off-road.
New rider
Someone with no experience of riding motorcycles.
